Although there is improvement in language accuracy recently depending on which language, we need to give a shout out to all the interpreters and translators who save the day from unedited machine translation. There is enough evidence and anecdotes about how human translators and interpreters are truly needed, but we are in the industry and cannot emphasize enough that AI and any other tool like it is exactly that: a tool to help linguists translate and interpret, but not replace them. It seems because of the availability of machine translation.

Will Machine Translation get better? Yes, it will, and linguists hope so. They want tools that will help them spend more time editing their work and perfecting it. But the human brain is an amazing machine that simply cannot be replicated, predicted or trained like a machine. The variety of thoughts and expressions from each human’s mind are infinite and no program will ever be able to catch up.
